Classes We Offer
​Ballet/Tap (age 3-5): This is a developmental class containing Ballet and Tap. Dancers will continue to progress, preparing them for elementary school level classes. This involves more advanced movement and rhythms. We will also incorporate more barre work for Ballet. Engaging music and a positive fun environment is used to inspire these little ones to dance! Thursdays 4:00-5:00PM and/or Saturdays 10:30-11:30AM.

Jazz/Tap II (age 5): This is a developmental class containing Jazz and Tap. Dancers will continue to progress, preparing them for elementary school level classes. Dancers will be introduced to proper warm-ups, stretches, and vocabulary combined with across the floor progressions and mini combinations. This is an upbeat, fun, well-rounded introduction to dance for our young students. Saturdays 11:30-12:30PM.​

Ballet (1st-12th grade | Beginner-Advanced Available): This class will focus on the basics of ballet. Students will build off of the five positions, master plié variations and tendus, among other level-appropriate skills. Dancers will use both barre and centre floor. Dancers will work to master level I curriculum to move on to level II with the instructor’s recommendation. Dancers will build upon their classical Ballet skills to strengthen their precision and ability.

Tap (1st-12th grade | Beginner-Advanced Available): Tap is a form of dance by using the shoe as well as the floor, as a percussive instrument. Wearing specially-designed shoes with metal taps on the balls and heels of the foot, dancers will learn musicality, timing, syncopation, music theory, and how to create rhythms with their toes and heels.This class will focus on the basics and fundamentals of tap with basic footwork and progressions across the floor.

Acrobatics (1st-12th grade | Beginner-Advanced Available): Acrobatics is a highly popular program at Core and is truly second to none. It is a stye of dance that combines elements of Acrobatics and floor gymnastics with classical dance. ​

Hip-Hop (Kindergarten-12th grade | Beginner-Advanced Available): Hip Hop is a fast-paced and energetic dance style using the latest street/urban dance moves set to Hip Hop music. It encompasses a wide range of street styles including breaking, locking, and popping. Hip Hop class also focuses on developing rhythm and coordination, while encouraging individual style. These hour long classes follow current trends in dance and music and include a warm-up, conditioning, basic-intermediate technique styles as well as introductions to new styles of choreography.

Jazz (1st-12th grade | Beginner-Advanced Available): Jazz is an excellent class for the dancers who are interested in further developing and strengthening their dance technique. Jazz includes elements of Ballet and Modern technique. We work to develop a solid technical base. The dancers will learn a variety of jumps and turns as well as innovative choreography in this upbeat class. This class will feature a variety of Jazz styles.

Lyrical (1st-12th grade | Beginner-Advanced Available): Lyrical dance combines technical elements of Ballet and Jazz. Students will concentrate on freedom and fluidity of movement. Lyrical is influenced by the expressiveness and airier aspects of dance.
Classes focus on stretch, strength, subtle and dynamic expression, and conveying musicality and emotion through properly aligned movement. Students are encouraged to explore emotion and individuality in dance through freestyle/improvisation and performance of lyrical choreography.

Theater Jazz (1st-12th grade | Beginner-Advanced Available): Musical Theatre is a jazz-based class filled with Broadway style dancing and music. Classes incorporate the style of dance one would typically see on a Broadway stage. This form of dancing emphasizes learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and facial expressions.

Contemporary (1st-12th grade | Beginner-Advanced Available): Contemporary is a dance genre that encourages freedom of expression, improvisation, innovation and the creative exploration of movement. It incorporates certain elements of Ballet, Modern dance, and Jazz.

FlexCon/JLT (2nd-12th grade | Beginner-Advanced Available): Otherwise known as, Flexibility & Conditioning/Jumps, Leaps & Turns. This highly popular weekly class is designed to accelerate a young dancers progress by focusing on strength and flexibility to improve technique for the first half of class. ​The second half focuses on a dancers Jumps, Turns, & Leaps, as well as "tricks".

Each class will perform in the year end recital in June and Holiday show in December at the Blessed Trinity High School theater.
